I have delighted in creating lovely things for as long as I can remember. I love textiles and paper and I am a complete 'craft tart' dipping into many different projects. I make all my own greetings cards and I like to create designs that stand out from the 'handmade' crowd.
I learned html code almost a decade ago and I've used this skill to produce websites for both clients and friends, projects which have sometimes included designing logos and publicity leaflets too.
In 2012 I began studying for a Foundation Degree in Graphic Design at Norton College in Sheffield and I'm very pleased that my years of creating have found renewed purpose and a new direction.
I've enjoyed learning new techniques and about the wider design industry. I find design history fascinating and inspirational and have developed a particular interest in typography. The course has made me a better designer, helping me to identify a strength and passion for branding, and has challenged me to produce my best work yet.
Since May 2015 I have been working as a Resource Designer at
Twinkl, and I am enjoying both the work and the environment immensely.
When doing freelance design, I work closely to my project briefs and listen intently to my clients, performing best when I can understand the purpose and vision behind any design I am working on. I aim to deliver elegant solutions that have insight, style and function.
When I'm not designing I teach acapella harmony singing, run a Girl Guide unit, shake my booty at Zumba and clean up after my teenage son.
